This is important because the comparison is used to prove why the trumps administration's healthcare decisions are greatly affecting the American people.
Strong Opinion Piece - Cici Chagnon https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/what-happens-when-a-local-newspaper-dies/2018/05/08/d898181a-52e8-11e8-abd8-265bd07a9859_story.html?utm_term=.3e65f2c30fe9 This article from the Washington Post is about paper newspapers and why we should still have them, and not just online news. I thought this was a good opinion piece because it acknowledged the other side of the issue and why it might make sense, but it also had strong points and was organized well. I liked how he incorporated some humor into the article too.

Strong opinion piece (Kathryn)

http://www.courant.com/opinion/op-ed/hc-op-fresh-talk-fighting-senioritis-end-in-sight-20180507-story.html This article is about why high school seniors should not succumb to senioristis. It was a good opinion piece because the author incorporated a variety of quotes from both professionals and high school students themselves, while also clearly stating his own beliefs.

http://www.courant.com/opinion/op-ed/hc-op-fresh-talk-shpak-how-not-to-date-in-college-20180430-story.html I think this is a strong opinion piece because it gives a very detailed list and looks back at past events that help portray the point.

who cares and why?

I think the article " Early Betting Favors the Underdog Eagles in Super Bowl ", would interest a lot of people. With 111.9 million people watching, the super bowl is a tradition in america, and Even people who aren't regular football watchers would like this article. It goes in depth about how people are predicting that the Eagles are going to win the super bowl, even though they have they don't have their starting quarter back Carson Wentz, Their back up, Nick Foles, made a statement with his game against the vikings where he  completed 26 of 33 passes for 352 yards (10.7 YPA), three touchdowns, no picks, and a 141.4 passer rating. These are the best stats a quarterback has had against eh vikings all season. In addition, with dominate running backs, Lagarrette Blount and Jay Ajayi throwing around the vikings defensive lineman and linebackers. The patriots are going to have a hard time stopping the run up the middle. These key points are why people are betting against...
Who Cares and Why? (Cici Chagnon) The first article that I found interesting is  Open, Closed or Something in Between: What a Shutdown Looks Like by the New York Times. It explains the impact of the recent government shutdown, and what we can expect to see in the future. This article reaches out to a very large audience, the whole country. Any American would have interest in this piece, as it explains what exactly a government shutdown is, and how that impacts all of us. Especially anybody who goes to public school, is employed by the government, or was planning on visiting any national parks or museums soon. Why do these people care? They care because as stated in the article, school districts are now losing money, a number of government employees are without jobs, and many national parks and museums are closed. This has a direct impact on all of our lives, and having an idea of what's to come is important to any American citizen. The second article I found is called...
Who Cares and Why? (Kathryn) I was scrolling through recent articles from the New York Times and the following two articles peeked my interest. 1. The first article was addressed to people who use any type of Apple tech and or parents, which is basically everyone. It was an informative piece about how several Apple investors have expressed concerns about the dangers of exposing young children to digital technology. Many people have been advocating that Apple does something to address and prevent this issue not only for child safety but for the well being of the economic future of Apple; shareholders will be less inclined to stay if they are suspicious that the product they are inducing are causing damage. People in general, for that matter, will be less inclined to purchase iPhones, Macs etc- after reading this article. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/08/business/apple-investors-children.html?rref=collection%2Fsectioncollection%2Feducation&action=click&contentCollection=e...
