Who Cares And Why? (Julia)
In journalism hard hitting stories can come from anywhere in the world at anytime. As I was looking through the New York Times once story caught my eye " Venezuela's most wanted rebel shared his story, just before death" As I read this story I learned many new things about the struggles and corruption of Venezuela. This article talked about the man Oscar Perez and his struggle for freedom and a better tomorrow. The reason why I found this so interesting is that there is this whole other struggle in another country and without articles like these people would not know his story and what he died for. I believe this story is so important and interesting because this man gets to tell his story and without it people in America would never know. Another story that caught my attention is " It's the patriots' stage; all the rest are merely players" https://www.nytimes.com/. This was very different article from the last one but it was still very important. As most people know the super bowl is coming up and people could not be more excited. This article in the NY times talked about why each team has a good chance of winning. The reason why people care so much is because football is huge all over the country and in articles like these explain things to people like me who do not fully understand the game just yet.
